The ring is larger on the 5" and 5. 5" so the bit remains in proportion with the larger horse's head. Made from stainless steel it is durable, easy to clean, tasteless and it does not rust. Copper is used in the mouthpiece to create warmth and encourage salivation to keep the mouth soft.
