Vinification: Directly pressed
cool north-facing cru planted partially in 1920 and partially in 1980 • Mostly Mencía with some Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet) and Bastardo (Trousseau) • Fermented with whole clusters and a long post-fermentation maceration • raised for one year in used 225L and 500L barrels • bottled without fining or filtration

2022 Whitcraft Winery Stolpman Vineyard Grenache, Ballard Canyon, USA Bucklin Harvest Technique by handGrapes are handpicked and sorted. Theyre lightly trodden by foot allowing carbonic to start. A pied de cuvee made from sampling juice is added to kick start fermentation. The wine is blanketed with CO2 until the cuvee is generating its own. After around three days when the skins start to loosen manual punchdowns are started once or twice per day.
