There is what appears to be a bit of a burn to the surface of the piece at lower right

Lots of use left in it

PA dealer as a great mid 19th c

The logo and text on the  crate wood dates it to the 1940s or so

Keeping Watch, Late Victorian Painting of Young Beauty on Door mother and sons There is what appears toQuite a beauty, and beautifully painted, but what really makes this for me is her having been painted on the central panel of a much used large cabinet (I believe) door. As such, her looking over her shoulder pose seems very much one of waiting and keeping watch and to have opened this door would have been to directly meet her gaze. (To me she looks a bit weary of it all, too, as if thinking "you again?") She seems to me much more of the sort to have
