I believe the incised eight legged creature is based on ancient Nazca Lines a group of geoglyphs created between 500 BC and 500 AD in the soil of the Nazca Desert in southern Peru. This came from the estate of a collector who travelled extensively in Central and South America and I'm guessing picked it up as a souvenir of sorts somewhere not ancient,
