Description
with what seems most likely to be a scroll held in hand
Initialed on reverse
which to my eye gives it a bit of a Scandanvian flavor
Rhead Pottery in Santa Barbara operated only from 1914-17 so the date on this is certain
A Present From Battle, Unusual Excellent Condition 19th C. Hand-painted Creamware Child's Mug German porcelain figurine with what seems most likelyA very lovely lovely one, this is a hand painted not transfer decorated child's mug, c. 1810, British I believe. One often sees children's mugs from this period bearing phrases beginning with "A Present" i. e. "A present for a dear child" or a "A present for Thomas" or "A present from an affectionate father" but I have never seen "A Present from Battle" and can't find another out there like it anywhere. How poignant and vivid to imagine a parent
