'Marsico Nuovo' Finish:none A mackerel seller holding aView of dislodged rocks and the limestone cliffs near the town of Paterno, Italy. The buildings visible are largely intact, Mallet's purpose was 'giving an excellent idea of the petrological character of the soft limestone'. Inscribed verso in pencil 'Marsico Novo'. Inscribed in ink '287'. Described in Mallet's 1862 Report, vol. 2 p. 29. Collected by Robert Mallet. Original: albumen print. 1857 1858
