and to my eye at least very much evoking a campanile or bell tower
There is one tiny carved bone bit missing from the perimeter of the lid (which fits snugly on top) and perhaps there was once a pull at the very center of that lid

Planes, Excellent c. 1940s Woodcut by Donald Pritchett, Age 13 Peter cottontail and it looks to meDigging through many a box of old papers, there are things I turn up that I know haven't seen the light of day for many years this woodcut, printed in black ink and signed by a Donald Pritchett, age 13, I know from the dealer I purchased it from lived in a storage space in PA for the past few decades. And it is just the sort I feel it my duty to liberate and steward. I would guess WW2 era, portraying a sky filled with what I take for fighter planes. I
