This is quite an old one I believe, early mid 19th century, with extra long toe and great hand carved vine design wrapping the sides and heel. It appears to have been stained painted a very dark brown, which has worn in a a few spots so to see the wood underneath. I guess most likely made to hold a pin cushion, but I am not completely
