Inscribed: 'Painted by Charles Landseer. Engraved by Jas. Thomson. SIR THOMAS LAWRENCE (LATE PRESIDENT OF THE ROYAL ACADEMY.) FISHER, SON & Co. LONDON, 1831.' With a printed specimen signature. In pencil, lower left: '1822' Sir Thomas Lawrence was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1822.
