Broken (and Mended) Heart, OLD Painted Panel, German, Found in Pennsylvania double shelf I am a sucker forThis is a very old thing, purchased from a dealer in Pennsylvania, found there, c. late 18th century German I believe. (There is a later note "Innsbruck" written on the reverse, I presume identifying where it came from, or where the family that owned it came from.) Clearly a split right down the middle was glued at some point, which struck me as rather poignant a broken then mended heart. (Resilience here on all levels!) It also looks a bit as if the
