Wonderful Antique Carved Soapstone Ladies Leg! painted wooden horn and the cup is 2Among my favorite finds of late, this beautifully carved green soapstone ladies leg, I believe likely made as a pipe tamper. Happily, her thigh terminates in a flat surface, so as to be able to display with booted foot in the air, making for a fabulous tabletop sculpture in all sorts of contexts. The form of the leg makes me believe it dates to the 2nd half of the 19th century, and the smooth green stone has accumulated a sort of gray patina over the
