Its body is an old turned wooden post of some sort, into which eyes were scraped, punctuated with pencil at their centers and a little nose and mouth below, making it look rather like a cat. Around the dowel two different layers of cotton cloth were wrapped around and around, with two slits cut in the heavier cloth through which the hand sewn calico arms were pulled out. Those arms look to have received a few mends near the ends
