Due to the nature of whipcord and its resistance to absorption, the heavy oiling increases the fabrics weight from the standard 12oz to approximately 14oz. For this seasons models, IH has updated the oiling process in an effort to find a more eco friendly method. Previously, they used fluorine in the process , a highly toxic chemical that poses serious environmental risks.
