Feels a bit like a Viking shield, good for self protecting and warding off the world! And with flat, smooth surface, it makes a useful pot lid indeed. I'm not totally sure what the handle was salvaged from, but it is tin I believe, seems likely from an antique tin camp cup or measure or similar. 11 1 4" d one way, 10 1 4" the opposite, 1 3 8" t at handle.
