Description
painted on both sides with some paint loss as obvious
indigenous birds and insects
the color in it is just terrific
and I have found a few others of the same form definitively dated to the 1930s
C. 1860s Calla Lily Drawing on Envelope red dyed painted on both sides withJust a little thing, but I've got a weakness from little drawing on envelopes, especially ones whose survival seems rather miraculous, and I really love this very gesturally drawn potted plant, with its wildly stretching green stems and pencil drawn label below seeming to indicate is meant to be a calla lily. 1860s or so, which I know from tracing the Thompson, Brown and Co. Boston envelope. 6 x 3 7 8 and in overall good condition.
