These Japanese hand-carved cedar (Cryptomeria) horny toads are pretty amazing for the manner in which their carved forms brilliantly correspond to the patterns of the  wood grain

I have not attempted to polish it but it would probably shine up some if desired

to my eye at least lending a subtle tension

Vintage Film Noir-esque Etching, Man Smoking iron doorstop but it reads like aI've been watching Ripley, so beautifully shot in black in white (on the Amalfi Coast, Rome, Venice, etc) in a very film noir sort of way, which immediately came to mind when I came across this etching. Looks like a plotting protagonist smoking in the shadows of an Italian stairwell to me! 8 3 4 x 11 1 8, etching on heavy paper, and in excellent condition. Signed Trish Grady on reverse.
