There are some very fancy little antique shoe-shaped snuff boxes out there with all sorts of inlays and flourishes

and it's possible that some of them date to the 18th century

and other signed works of his to which it bears a resemblance

Indeed, I might be as inclined to lay it on a tabletop with a piece of glass over it as to hang it on the wall, with the illusionsm of the aerial perspective making one rather want to walk all the way around it! 9" x 15".
