made by someone a hundred years ago or so with a great aesthetic sensibility I think
which appears to read Parker and Wood on front and perhaps a note about location on the back
1968 Folk Art Painting of Urn with Flowers on Masonite Board, Signed Harvard This one certainly calls theThis painting is definitely a folk art piece, but between that sky and off kilter checkerboard floor and super bright bouquet it also has a bit of a Chicago Imagist feel about it to me, while also seeming to reference theorem paintings, with the urn especially almost looking like a cut stencil. All this adds up to what I think is quite a fabulous painting, with an impact quite beyond its smallish size, and which seems just the thing to get one through
