with some wear to the wood and probably some fading of the original color
This one is signed Dorlisa (or possibly Dorlida) Lyons (appropriately) and I think it honors its predecessors quite nicely
but I can't quite decipher the signature
Duchampian Salesman Sample Spring Hinge early dominoes All are rendered in vividI find this c. 1940s 50s salesman sample hinge very very Duchampian a "readymade" for sure, but the fact of it being a hinge making much more so: all about latent potential, tension, and the mechanics of activation, in this case the possibility of literally springing it open or snapping it closed. These are the things it makes me think about anyway! Plus just the word "hinge" and all it connotes. 6 3 8 x 2 5 8 x 1 7 8 d and in good condition, still
