The Mark II proved successful, with 1 2 3 victories at Le Mans and Daytona in 1966, and the GT 40 continued to win at Le Mans for the next three years. This car, number 1103 was the last of seven de tuned MkIII versions, built by JWA Engineering in association with Ford, for road use. The number '40' in the car's name refers to its height of 40 inches.
