This is lovely vintage slide top box with dovetailed corners and a reddish stain

I find it quite elegiac

with some staining and small tears along the edges

And all sorts of things sit in and on it well, with the high back a good support to lean against. 5 3 8 w x 6 5 8 t x 3 7 8 d. Late 19th c. or so, I believe and in good, very sturdy condition.
