George Abbott's Small 1872 C. Notebook with A Bit of American History and Lots of Calculations cutout duck worn by both men andOne of three 1870s notebooks today from a George Abbott of Boston, MA, each special in its own way. This small one begins with a list of the causes of the American Revolution, followed by a few lists of exports and imports, then latitudes and longitudes of major U. S. cities. Then a series of dense pages of math calculations, evolving into what feel to me almost like pure drawings, with a sort of cobweb of lines bracketing one problem from the next.
