I've found a few others somewhat like it dating to around the beginning of the 20th century

Elegant Inuit Black Stone Carved Owl shop brush It appears that her neckI'm sure this Inuit carving, with its crooked beak, represents an owl, but is a fairly unusual one from what I've found in its minimalism, feeling quite like a modernist sculpture. Very striking I think, with a really strong presence. 4 3 4 t x 5 1 4 long measured on the square; 1 lb 6 oz. Signed (incised) in syllabics with a disc number on the underside. Very good condition, with a few flaws in the stone, which appear native to it.
