William Charles Palmer "Butternut Hill" Dreaming Snowman Painting painted enamelware I especially the yellow bordersThis original gouache and watercolor on board was created by William Charles Palmer as an Illustration for a children's book about the adventures of a snowman, which I am not certain was ever published. As a stand alone piece I think it's pretty terrific, though, with our very longing snow man dreaming of a skirted and high heeled dancing snow woman, who holds what appears to be some sort of lantern, and is basked in a halo like glow. The painting
