Hugh Grosvenor, 1st Duke of Westminster Great Tor Louise de Lorraine-Vaudémont was aHugh Grosvenor, 1st Duke of Westminster, c1890. By the time that Grosvenor (1825 1899) was created Duke of Westminster in 1874, his family's portfolio of property in some of London's most exclusive areas made it the wealthiest in Britain. He served for 22 years as a Liberal MP and was a highly successful racehorse owner and breeder.
