Constructed of blackened magnetic iron, the obverse consisting of a round oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a central horse, on top of a NSDAP style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with an analogous wreath joined at the bottom by a Sturmabteilung (SA) logo, with a central inscription of FR VERDIENSTE UM DIE WEHRHAFTE ERTCHIGUNG DER DEUTSCHERN REITEJUGEND (FOR MERIT IN THE
