An eight pointed radiant star constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse bearing an Iron Cross with blackned iron, the 12 oclock arm bears a crown, the 6 oclock arm bears 1914 and the centre bears the cipher W, the reverse bears a vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch with a barrel hinge, measuring 88. 48 mm (w) x 89. 26 mm (h), very fine.
