An Augustin Jäger Pioneer Carbine M1849 Sword-Socket Bayonet consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac Hall survived the war(Augustin Jger M1849 Kammerbchsen Bajonette). C. 1849 1854. A fine example of an Augustin Jger Pioneer carbine M1849 sword socket bayonet. It is constructed of magnetic metal, with a 108 mm socket that has a 27 mm outer diameter and an inner diameter of 23mm. The 595 mm single edged blade has a thick, flat spine, with broad fullers on both sides. The blade is 34mm wide at the ricasso, with a gradual taper to a spear point. It has unknown hallmarks
