Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, with a central Heer style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 42. 48 mm (w) x 52. 02 mm (h), weighing 8. 9 grams, with most of the silvered finish lost, a hollow back version
