Launched in 1889, HMS 'Thrush' saw action in the 40 minute Anglo Zanzibar War in 1896. She was also on active service during the Boer War. 'Thrush' was wrecked off Glenarm, Northern Ireland, in 1917 while serving as a salvage vessel.
