Convent of St Catherine with Mount Horeb German Grand Prix were warring continually and causing'Convent of St Catherine with Mount Horeb, February 19th 1839' (1849). The Greek Orthodox St Catherine's Monastery stands at the foot of the mountain where, according to the Bible, Moses was given the Ten Commandments. It was built in the 6th century during the reign of the Emperor Justinian, around the site where Moses is said to have witnessed the Burning Bush.
