enlisted men’s yellow embroidered eagle and crown on black wool cap badge
along with a fouled anchor and lion for “Birmingham”
France, II Empire. A Pair of Orders of the Legion of Honour, Knight Auction (Medaillen und Münzen)(Ordre National de la Lgion dhonneur). II Empire (1852 1870). In silver with white, blue, and green enamels, each of the arms finished with ball finials, green enamelled wreath segments in each quadrant, obverse center shows profile of Luis Napoleon facing right with inscription NAPOLEON EMPEREUR DES FRANCAIS in the blue enamel ring surrounding the centerpiece, reverse centerpiece shows an eagle surrounded by blue enamelled ring with the inscription
