Two piece construction alloy with gilt edged black and white enamels; the obverse a Maltese cross with a central silvered black enamel medallion inscribed in silvering with Verdun, 1914 1918 inscribed; the reverse plain; maker marked Fleck & Sohn, Hamburg 3 on reverse; double loops for ribbon suspension; measuring 39. 53 mm (w) x 39. 84 mm (h); in good condition.
