Two women and a child wearing the latest fashions patent Royal Exchange and the BankTwo women and a child wearing the latest fashions, 1864. The woman on the left is wearing a matching dress and fitted coat, whilst the woman on the right is wearing a matching dress and mantle, which was a looser fitting garment compared to a coat. Both of the skirts reflect the changing fashion from an all rounded full skirt to a flatter front and a fuller back skirt. This look was achieved by wearing a crinolette, a half crinoline.
