Germany, Third Reich. A Mountaineer Reserve Medal Auction Archive WWI 28th Infantry Battalion Collar(Gebirgsjger Ersatz Medaille). A commemorative medal constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse presents a 1939 Iron Cross in the centre, Edelwei insignia at the bottom and the inscription 1. GEN. KP. I. GEB. JG. E. BTL. 98 (1st Company of the Mountaineer Reserve Battalion 98), the reverse shows the coat of arms for Garmisch Partenkirchen, the date 1943, and a mountain, measures 35. 27 mm (w) x 38 mm (h), weighs 14. 0 g, and in very fine condition.
