Finland, Republic. An Order Of The Lion Of Finland, Commander, C.1942 Newly Listed engraver marked "FL" over "45"(Suomen Leijonan ritarikunta). Instituted September 11 1942. In silver gilt, a white enamel cross, the obverse medallion featuring a rampant lion on a red enamel field, reverse plain, measures 49. 88mm (w) x 54. 48mm (h inclusive of integral ring), weighs 42. 2 grams (including ribbon), enamels intact, light gilt wear, in extremely fine condition.
