Bavaria, Kingdom. A Pilot’s Badge, by Carl Poellath, c. 1919 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac excellent detail(Flugzeugfhrerabzeichen). Constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Bavarian royal crown, surrounding a central depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round catch, maker marked CARL POELLATH, SCHROBENHAUSEN, above a mark of SILBER, measuring 45. 63 mm (w) x 74. 21 mm (h),
