Germany, Third Reich. A Minesweeper War Badge, by Disputed Maker Lind & Meyrer, c. 1944 Newly Listed Iron Cross Second Class 1939(Kriegsabzeichen fr Minensuch , U Boot Jagd und Sicherungsverbnde). Instituted August 31st, 1940. Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath joined together at the base by a ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, surrounded by a stylized depiction of a sea mine exploding, the reverse with a crimped sheet metal hinge, vertical round wire pin, with a crimped rightward opening
