Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Romanov style imperial eagle clutching an orb and sceptre, circumscribed by a Church Slavonic inscription reading GOD IS WITH US, PEOPLE TAKE HEED AND SUBMIT, the reverse bearing a raised Russian Cyrillic inscription of 1849 (FOR THE PACIFICATION OF HUNGARY AND TRANSYLVANIA 1849), measuring 29. 2 mm (w) x 34. 8 mm
