Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and rightward facing profile of King Friedrich August, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of VERDIENST UM DAS VATERLAND (SERVICE TO THE FATHERLAND), within a circular laurel
