A cross pattee constructed of darkened bronze; the obverse inscribed EA for Ernst August, with a raised royal crown on the12 oclock arm and dated 1914 on the 6 oclock arm, the reverse inscribed FR VERDIENST IM KRIEGE (For Merit at War), measuring 30. 21 mm (w) x 34. 46 mm (h), with loop for suspension, very fine.
