Of French manufacture, a five pointed star with pebbled background in bronze gilt, featuring a laurel wreath across the quadrants, reverse centre with Arabic lettering, marked by mark of "LR PARIS", measuring 41. 40 mm (w) x 42. 75 mm (h inclusive of integral suspension), light contact, extremely fine. Footnote: The Star of Merit was instituted by King Muhammad V in 1939, as a reward for civil services. It is awarded in three classes:
