Instituted on 7 May 1765 by Stanislaus II of Poland. Incorporated into the Russian orders system on 11 January 1832. (1899 1903 issue). Constructed of silver with multi coloured enamels, consisting of an eight pointed radiant star with ribbed borders, the obverse with a central gilt medallion depicting a black enameled Romanov imperial eagle, within a ribbed gilt ring, in turn surrounded by a ring of white enamel bearing a raised gilt inscription
