A silver medal; the obverse depicting the crowned royal monogram of King Friedrich III; the reverse inscribed Verdienst um den Staat (German Merit for the State) within a laurel wreath tied together at the base via a ribbon; on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon; measuring 39. 63 mm in diameter; weighing 32. 0 grams; in overall very fine condition.
