Constructed of silvered bronze, consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, the obverse with a swooping Luftwaffe style German national eagle, the reverse with two rivets visible holding obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 41. 17 mm (w) x 53. 07 mm (h), weighing 33. 4 grams,
