Institution date: January 4, 1888 by Emperor Meiji. A Japanese Order of the Sacred Treasure, III Class Case. The exterior is of black lacquer with Japanese characters on the top. The interior of the case consists of two different mediums, the top a purple cushioned fabric and the bottom a purple velvet medal bed made to house a third class medal, it also has a space underneath the medalbed for the ribbon to be tucked. It measures at 82. 4mm
