Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte, the obverse with a raised central leftward facing profile of King Wilhelm I, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central Prussian Imperial Eagle flying over a boat and seascape, the arms with an inscription of ALSEN 29. JUNI 1864, with a laurel wreath through the quadrants, unmarked, measuring 32. 34 mm (w) x 38.
