Caroline, Consort of George IV goldsmiths showing the Angel Public HouseCaroline, Queen Consort of George IV, 1820, as she appeared at the balcony at Alderman Matthew Wood's on her arrival in London. She had been living in Europe following her separation from George and his exclusion of her from the court while he was Prince Regent, but returned to England when George became King in 1820. She wears a hat with a large plume of feathers.
