Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a leftward facing profile of King Georg V, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with an inscription of LANGENSALZA 27. JUNI 1866, within a laurel wreath, the obverse maker marked JAUNER for the Vienna based medalist, the edge engraved with a recipients named
