Handwoven Vintage Ecuadorian Tapestry or Rug with Fish Pattern vintage dressage letter yet with a great eleganceI purchased this terrific handwoven rug from the estate sale of an artist and gallerist on Newbury Street in Boston who dealt in Haitian art primarily, but also had an extensive collection of South American textiles. While the weaving is unsigned, it reminds me of the work of Jose Cotacachi and I believe comes from Otavalo, Ecuador. Woven with a (hand dyed, I believe) wool weft on cotton warp in a great, earthy palette, it could either be hung on the
